The Santa Barbara School Districts had a special education study conducted last spring by the Fiscal Crisis & Management Assistance Team (FCMAT). They will be using the recommendations from this study to develop a Special Education Action Plan. Also, a Special Education Stakeholder Workgroup was convened by the board of education to address the recommendations from the FCMAT study.

The Districts are very interested in hearing from parents of children with special needs and interested community members. Please join them at a community input forum to share your ideas regarding the restructuring efforts in special education. They want this exchange of information to be informal with an opportunity for you to provide input and ask questions. Please note that all input will be held confidential. They also will have district staff available after the forum to address any specific questions that you may have about your child.
